![]() IN THE SUMMER kids 14-under Once again, the New York Rockits will be tipping off their summer youth basketball program for kids 14 and under beginning on Tuesday, June 22nd, at the Middle School 56 located at 220 Henry Street from 6:15pm-8:00pm. These weekly sessions will be conducted by the motivated coaching staff of the New York Rockits Athletes In Action. Heading the program is Richard "Quan" Wong who has coached some of the best Asian Chinese ballers that have ever played from the NY/NJ area. Additional coaches assisting with the workout sessions are coaches Kevin Low, Mike Mei, and Denny Lee. Players of all abilities are welcome but space is limited. If you're someone who fits this description then you're a player the NY Rockits Athletes In Action would like to invite to come down and "HOOP IT UP" at our youth basketball clinics. Whether you're just a beginner or a seasoned veteran, "we still teach the game". 2010-2011 ROSTER SPOTS AVAILABLE PLAYERS WITH GAME - the New York Rockits Athletes In Action have a few open spots for their Boys Basketball teams for the 2010-2011 hoop season. So if you've got the desire to work hard, the discipline to play as a team member, and the skills to learn then we'd like to invite you to come down and tryout for one of our three boys basketball teams: Young Life Rockits 18-under, Chinatown Life Rockits 15-under and our Junior Rockits 13-under. ![]() The New York Rockits Athletes In Action Organization conducts a year round Youth Basketball Program serving more than 100 boys and girls who live primarily in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. Since 1990, it has long been recognized for its success and leadership in the field of youth development. The purpose of the program is to encourage excellence in sports as a way of encouraging and advancing excellence in academics, developing constructive personal goals, achieving sound moral standards and providing an extended family to assist young people in becoming valuable contributors of their community. Based in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the NY ROCKITS AIA attracts players from ages 10 and up from all five boroughs of New York, and the suburbs of New Jersey. The strength of our organization is not in its basketball but in the quality of character developed within each player. The success of our program is evident in the number of alumni who have gone on to academic as well as athletic success in college. Graduates have attended prestigious universities such as Harvard, Stanford, Wharton School of Business, Columbia, Cooper Union, and NYU, just to name a few. The organization promotes a standard of living - through hard work and example. Players have gone on to become Doctors, Investment Bankers, Lawyers, Engineers, Business Owners, and NBA Sports Agents. These past players have set a standard for our future players to shoot for. The New York Rockits Athletes In Action is a registered 501© 3 not-for-profit corporation. comprised of a highly committed, diverse group of professionals, who are dedicated to developing children and teenagers through hard work and determination. Through a series fund raising basketball events each year, money is raised in hopes of earning enough to pay for such necessities as practice facilities, tournament/league entry fees, travel expenses, and uniforms for our numerous teams. Contributions such as monetary, travel miles, and reward points are always welcome. No gift is too small, and any help is much appreciated. Your support will allow our organization the opportunity expand our programs to additional youths. Financial contributions should be made payable to the New York Rockits Athletes In Action.
